Dimagrisci informato, a weblog administered and maintained by Patrizia Pasquino, reports a research made by Siena University, claiming that italian (sicilian) red wine has effects against Ulcer, Elicobacter Pylori and several other stomach diseases such as pain, burns and so on.
Thirteen wines, coming from several italian regions have been analyzed: Cabernet and Sangiovese from Tuscany, Sicilian Cabernet, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Nero d’Avola, Sicilian Merlot and Syrah, Salento wines from Puglia, Pedemont Barbera and Chieti Novello, the Gutturnio.
The researchers have focused on effects of red wine against the Elicobacter pylori, responsible of most stomach diseases. Every wine tested is resulted active against Elicobacter Pylori and the most active ones are sicilian red wines.
But only at moderated quantities: if consumed wines per each meals goes over two glasses (350 cc), contained ethanol becomes aggressive and harmful for the stomach.
